Pregnancy is usually a joyful period of the birth anticipation of a healthy child. The vast majority of babies are normal. However in all women, whatever their age, there is a small risk of delivering a baby with a physical and/or mental handicap.
In PROFEMA we are engaged in professional ultrasound monitoring of fetal development during the whole pregnancy. Our aim is the early detection of occasional abnormalities with consequent offer of various options of further management to the parents.
A high level of professional care is guaranteed by our on-going international collaboration with the Fetal Medicine Foundation in London. PROFEMA also puts great emphasis on quality in terms of communication. We believe that each woman should always be clearly informed about her test results.
